Back in the Lower 48

“Welcome home” was the greeting from the US border agent at Coutts. It was a sudden ending to our faraway travels.

It was too soon to be back on a US interstate so we meandered along Route 2 and discovered a Hot Spring resort – not as good as Liard Hot Springs but it did the trick – we were asleep by 9:30pm.

We continued on Route 2 and found a little town called Hingham in MT, so we had to send postcards (with the local PO stamp) to our great friends in Hingham MA where we lived for 10 years.

A “Butte-iful” view

“Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a sanctuary for wildlife and people. The lonely freedom of the wilderness is nestled into every scenic view and blazing sunset. For all time, it is a place for people to find refuge where the bison roam.”

Here is a video of the Butte’s in the National Park

Peaceful and “Butte-iful”

We arrived home on Aug 20th – ZuZu is so happy!!

Home Sweet Home

Ushingi did us proud – traveled 11,159 miles and then we added 2,337 miles in Lynne’s car for a total of 13,492 miles traveled. Our fuel bill was a lot less than expected – only $3,362.89.

We were blessed with no mechanical issues, no tire punctures and to our utter amazement NO windshield cracks. We had a near miss early in our trip with a truck throwing up a large rock that hit the roof and missed the windshield.

I think this was our last long trip…..

Going once, going twice….
